About our club

Wigston Magna Dog Training Club's history and principles

Our club was formed in the late 1950's by dog loving enthusiasts. Their enthusiasm soon turned towards competition work and trials and they were soon entertaining large crowds throughout the Midlands. The club operates on the following principles:

• All trainers and committee members are volunteers who are unpaid.
• All surplus monies are donated to animal related and local charities.
• All training is non-competitive.
• All trainers use methods that are kind, fair and effective.

The club is one of only two or three in the county that is registered with The Kennel Club; a distinction it has held for over forty years.

• Leicester Wildlife Hospital
• Blue Cross

We also hold fund-raising events for charity.
